Birth can be intense and while most parents will forever remember their child's birth, many details and memories may be left unclear. Professional birth photography helps preserve these moments in an artful and emotional way that allows parents to relive their child’s birth in perfect detail year after year. One of the greatest gifts of having your birth documented is sharing your child’s story with them as they grow.
WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK OUR BIRTH STORY?
As soon as possible ! Because of the on-call nature of birth photography, I only accept a limited number of birth client per month and spaces tend to fill quite far in advance.
CAN I KEEP MY PHOTOS PRIVATE?
Absolutely !! While I do love sharing moments to normalize birth and celebrate it’s strength and beauty, these photos are your sacred moments and only you decide who gets to see them.
WHY IS BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHY SUCH AN INVESTMENT?
Birth can be very unpredictable and typically has no predetermined time for when it will happen nor how long it will last. I could be with you 6 hours or 30. I am on-call and available for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for sometimes up to a month, which means not being more then an hour away at any given time. I use high quality gear capable of handling low light and often difficult shooting environments that births typically pose. These moments are once in lifetime and once captured will become one of your greatest heirlooms.
WILL I BE COMFORTABLE WITH A CAMERA IN MY BIRTH SPACE?
I meet clients and their support persons before attending their birth. I want us to get to know one and other and feel comfortable together before the big day. I also spend most of my time at your birth blending in. If you need a hand I am happy to assist but in most cases consider me a fly on the wall. I shoot with intention so typically only take a photo roughly every 5 minutes, my camera only goes up when the moment is right.
